7.624. Effective date.
The provisions of this Subchapter PP adopted by Executive Order 1994-2, 24 Pa.B. 2075, unless otherwise noted.
The Governor’s Office of PennPORTS shall be located within the Department of Commerce.
The Governor’s Office of PennPORTS shall perform the following functions:
(1) Oversee and administer the allocation of State appropriations to the Commonwealth’s three ports.
(2) In cooperation with the Secretaries of Commerce and Transportation, coordinate transportation planning efforts, economic development and international trade initiatives, and policy development.
(3) Promote legislation and programs that would facilitate the movement of goods through this Commonwealth.
(4) Provide assistance to State port authorities which require planning, budgeting, marketing or other assistance.
(5) Execute additional functions and duties which are assigned to it.
Commonwealth agencies under the jurisdiction of the Governor shall cooperate fully with the Governor’s Office of PennPORTS and provide assistance and information as needed to carry out the functions in an effective manner.
This subchapter shall take effect March 29, 1994.
